Now sit right back and you'll hear a tale...

Okay so remember when we were on the very bad boat ride? And Grandpa had to drop us off at the Heidel House because we were scared to die a watery death? Today on the Zaandam is worse. It's so very rocky and guest are throwing up left and right. I'm not seasick at all, I guess my body is pretty much used to motion now, but it's really moving today. I can't walk straight and keep bumping into things, and before you ask, it's not just me. Everyone is just as dizzy. HAHA. I feel bad for the guests...and the cabin stewards...they have to clean up after everyone!! I'm in my cabin right now and can hear the water crashing against the side of the ship every time we pitch. During the night something went wrong with an engine valve and we were just floating for about an hour, no forward movement. Oh boy. It seems to be fixed now and we're going full speed ahead. Should be arriving in Vancouver the day after tomorrow, then Seattle on Friday. Alaska here I come!

I have moose slippers and will start wearing them at all times in crew areas. It's going to be my signature look. Haha.

Robert is doing fine Granny. He's in Virginia and working at a very high-tech job till he starts school in July. He's learning about computer stuff that's way over my head. He is actually on the road right now, headed to Chicago for about two weeks of leave. He will also be visiting his daughter Lucy.

Well, the ship is a-rockin and I was planning to go to the gym but honestly, I think I might fall off the treadmill. Maybe I'll skip it for tonight. Stay tuned for more news. Same bat time, same bat channel.

i lied. it is 6 hours later and my body is not used to this kind of motion. my body does not like it one bit. it is nauseaus and angry and it hates me right now. my body wants the boat to stop rocking!!! there are 25 ft seas. that means my body is going up and down about 25 ft ever few seconds. WAHHHHHHHH!!!!

One time off the coast of Alaska we were rocking & rolling and at that time the waves were 4 to 7 feet! I can't imagine what it must be like for you. It was a little rocky one day last year in the Caribbean (I don't know if you remember) but nothing like that!
A friend of mine was in the Caribbean on the Disney ship and they couldn't get off of the ship on the Disney Island because of high waves. They just anchored all day and everyone was getting sick too. Thank heavens we've never had that! When things get back to normal, have you remembered to 'borrow' a blue "Z" cup for me?
The Moose slippers are a cute idea.
Hope things calm down. Glad to hear that Rob is doing OK on terra firma!
Luv to All.........Granny

Emmy, those were maybe 4 or 5 foot waves we had the first day.....not 25 foot waves!
Amy...Emmy is me NAZI REHAB LADY!
She drills me like a fiend, then goes home and calls me every hour to see if I'm walking back & forth in the house 3 times on the hour!
Auntie L's weekend getaway in GL fizzled out and on top of everything that went wrong she has a really bad sinus infection.
Luv.......Granny

Ahoy-pukey. What a bummer. If it's any consolation I am sick with a fever since Tuesday and I feel like ca-ca. Plus, as Granny said my GL trip was a bust. Long story but ended up only being two of us...not worthy of the gas, expenses, etc. Another time. So see-you could be me. OH-and Stevie swallowed a nickel Tues. PM so now I am checking poop to make sure it didn't go down the wind pipe instead! Is this really my life? Hope the sea calms down for you...Don't hurl on the moose slippers! Love You, Auntie La

Hi. Hope things are better on board by today. That must have been pretty scary for a while.

We have some news...we have a new addition to our family...no, not a pet. It's about 12 feet tall and sits in the front yard, her name is Scarlet. It's an Autumn Flame Red Maple. She's 2" in diameter and a lovely shade of green right now, but should be even lovelier in fall. She was planted just this morning.

Well, that's the highlight of my day! Tomorrow I'm headed to a huge book sale in Arl. Hts. which many homeschoolers attend. Got my list printed out and my rolling cart ready. Look out...can you stand all that excitement?

Since today is Cinco de Mayo, we're headed off to Mateo's for some Mexican food.

Adios! Love you, Auntie J.

Hi family!

The ship is still rocking quite a lot but not as bad as before. The Pacific Ocean is rough! Tomorrow we will arrive in Juneau and then coming back we will bein the passage so hopefully pretty calm. The guests all embarked yesterday so they are all sick and there are puke bags in all the hallways. Ew. I'm okay now, I threw up last night though. As soon as I threw up I felt much better and by the time I went to bed I was fine. So far so good today.

AL,I'm sorry your tip didn't work out so well...that's a bummer. I'm also sorry that you're nickel hunting in Stevie's poop. I have to say I'm not really too jealous of you.

AJ, Em, Jaim and UR, congrats on your new addition! I have a tree in my mom and dad's front yard by the fire hydrant that I planted when I was little, it was a tiny stick only 2 feet tall and now its HUGE!

Granny, I'm glad you have a nazi drill lady to keep you on track. When I get home we are going to go for walks around the block so you have five weeks to get moving. I'll be living a mere stones throw away from you all summer so I will be Em's assistant nazi drill lady.

Our internet was down for a few days so that's why I've been MIA. Hopefully it won't go down again. Okay well time to go tye dye some tee-shirts. Love you and talk to you soon! See you in five weeks!

First of all, that's Nazi re-hab lady, and I don't need any help except to call Gaga every hour to make sure she's walking and doing her drills. You can do it on my days off, okay? And make sure she walks around the whole block.

Did your moose slippers stay clean?

Time for breakfast.
Love to all,
Em
