Happy Carnival

Hi all,

Yesterday it was Carnival in Aruba! I went to the parade and it was a LOT of fun. The costumes were really elaborate and there was lots of music and dancing, very festive. It seemed like everyone in Aruba had come out to celebrate. I had been seasick the night before and that morning, so I felt a litle out of it, but mostly had a good time with Rachel, Brianne and Adam. After the parade we went to Hooters for dinner. Hooters in Aruba?? you say? Yep and it was delicious. I had wings and curly fries. Last night was movie night with the teens but none of them came so I read my book for an hour and a half and then closed up and went to the OB. Today we are in Curacao but I have IPM so i can't get off the ship. I'm working in the internet cafe/library right now (the EC) and then I have a ping pong tournamant at 5 and "Scene It" at 9pm. Not a bad day. I had planned to get some laundry done today but it never happened.

Dad and Vladee, I'm glad you figured out how to post, but let's post some real comments...not jibberish, yes? I get really excited to see I have new comments and then I open it and I see "a;lsdkfj;alsdkfja;lsdkfj" ?? That is a let down :)

Well kids, internet time is money so I'll say bye for now. How are things at home today? See you all in three months!

Love,

Me

P.S. I heart sister.

You have IPM??!! Is that a diesase or some sort of ship responsibilty?

Ping pong, eh? Are you as good as Forrest Gump? Or, is this another activity planned for teens (as is "Scene It")?

Man! To get paid to have so much fun! Enjoy!

Hi,
Just got back from Green Lake (nothing exciting like your travels). Yesterday AM it was ZERO degrees. Tori nearly froze her little tail off (we all did).
Nothing exciting going on this week except that we have to make an appointment with our lawyer,
(no we're not getting a divorce),
to leave you guys all our money, if we don't spend it all. Only three weeks from Thursday and we'll be in your League, (fun in the sun, etc.). How is Rob doing?
Who does he miss most, you or Lucy? Keep the updates coming.
Luv,
Granny

Hey Ame,

All's quiet on the homefront today. It's not too bad here in Chgo. In the 30's and partly cloudy. Just baking some Amish bread today. Your mom was making her's yesterday. It's a recipe where you make some and pass on 4 starters to other people. Well, I've been passing along 3 and keeping one because the kids love it. If I still have it by the time you're back we'll give you some. It's yummy.

The girls have their last swim class tonight for this winter session. I'm pretty sure J didn't pass since she wouldn't get her head in the water and didn't want to try to float by herself last week. I'm thinking not to sign her up again until summer, if then. E on the other hand is better. She may have passed this 2nd level - we'll see tonight. They had to be able to swim across the pool without stopping to pass. I know she's done it before but don't know if she actually made it without stopping last week. I think she stopped in the middle. Oh well. We are going to sign her up for the Spring session since she loves it and is doing pretty well. They can both get some practice on vacation too - if it's warm enough. Heard it was only in the 60's in Orlando yesterday! Better than here, but not swimming weather.

The girls and I are going to the play "Pocahontas" tomorrow, put on by the CYT - Christian Youth Theater. We've seen 3 plays by them in the past 2 years and they're very good. I think 8 kids from our homeschool group are in this production - one is actually the lead! It's not cheesy kids theater either. They have some good talent and a very professional performance.
Otherwise we have a slow week.

Next week is someone's birthday...Mr. Computer's perhaps?? Or should I say Dr.RT??

Well, don't eat too much on Fat Tuesday. I should talk. I've been chowing down on the Girl Scout cookies. Have to put some in cold storage so we don't devour them in a week.

Love you. Oh, since you said, "See you all in 3 mos." does that mean you're not extending for the last 2 months? Or is that still up in the air?

Bye, Auntie J.

I'm not going to extend, I've decided to come home and spend the summer in Chicago, going to Cubs games, going to Green Lake and hopefully making a lot of money at a bar somewhere in the city. Also Linny and I are going to France for a few weeks in August and I have to go back to P'cola for a week to get my teeth finished and move my stuff back up to Chicago. SOoo....I figured I'll come home in June and get things rolling. Staying on till August would have been fun but so much to do before I start school in September! I've never heard of this Amish bread thing. Good luck with it! I just ate way too much dinner so I think I'll go take a walk around the Promenade deck a few times. Love you!

Hey Aim! Aruba sounds groovy. Cold here today. I walked with my friend, Kim. We're going to walk three days a week. Sat. was fun. Uncl R and I went to a fund-raiser for a cancer patient lady-played bocce ball-what a blast. Say, what are the young men R0 and Rys ages wearing in the way of dinner attire these days? I'm thinking camp shirt and Docker style pants-but what knid of shoesies? "boat/deck" shoes perhaps-pls advise. Thanks! Love you! Auntie La

yeah polo shirt or button down shirts are good with dockers and any kind of brown shoes...deck shoes or lace up. doesnt have to be real fancy except may want to add a tie for formal night but don't think the kids have to. adults usually do. just no jeans and sneakers in the dining room. during the day they can wear shorts and t-shirs and flop flops. the dining room is really the only place you need to dress nice for, and some of the night bars if they are going to stay out at night. i dont think they will need jackets...but uncle ron should have one for formal nights. on holland america men wear tuxedos for formal nights (my dad and uncle lee and jason and grandpa rented from the ship) but i dont know if they get that famcy for disney cruises. i went out to a pax (passenger) area at night and it was formal night so i got all snazzed up. it was fun. i like playing dress up! you guys are gonna have a blast, too bad i won't be in ft. lauderdale the dame days you are...but ill wave if i see your ship in the distance!

love you

Sounds like a blast. You look hot in that picture Ame. Where were you on IM today??? I'm going to bed now...gotta get up at 0445. They're going to teach me to be a HUMVEE driving instructor so I can teach the Privates how to drive HumVees...should be pretty cool. Miss ya. Love, Rob.

P.S. Granny, I'm doing okay and I definitely miss Lucy but I'd have to say I miss Ame just a little more.

Rob, good to hear from you! I'm sure the girls (Amy & Lucy) miss you too! If I ever learn to drive I want a Hummer & you can teach me how to drive it! Linny, get busy & teach your Mom how to blog. Glad to hear you're having fun, just don't have too much fun! Amy, the pictures were great. Miss you & glad to hear you won't extend your contract.

Granny

Hi loves,

Aunties La and J...how goes the packing? You are going to have a great time cruising. It's the best. Pocahontas sounds cool, did the girls like it??

Gramma, I think if you are driving a hummer I will get a tank, just to be safe. Hahaha...JUST KIDDING!! You drive the riding lawnmower like a pro.

Sister, no, I can't leave early by June 2nd is going to be here before you know it. Once I get home and we are together all the time you may even get tired of me and try to send me back to a ship! Maybe a good thing Derek is moving away since he is a little weird...but don't be sage. I will be home with presents in the blink of an eye. Then we start apartment hunting and the fun really begins!

Today we are at sea, it's lunchtime so I'm about to head up to the Lido for a sandwich, then tomorrow we are in Panama so I'll prob stay on the ship and sunbathe, then go to the beach the next day in Costa Rica. Tough life I lead here. Next cruise we have a VIP family coming on, close friends of the CEO...and I will be resposible for keeping their kids happy. Wish me luck!

More posts and pics soon, promise!

Love,

Amy
