help! runaway air fares!

Hi Readers,

Is it wrong that I'm listening to Christmas music and it's not even Thanksgiving yet? I went to the mall yesterday and they were playing Christmas music and it was all decorated and now I'm all in the mood for Christmas! I really want to get a tree but we don't really have a lot of room in our apt. I have to figure out how to fit it. Speaking of Christmas...AIR FARES! Holy Shmoly! I haven't been able to find anything for under $450 so far. I hate to tell ya family, but I cannot spend $450 to come home for Christmas. If you see any deals online, please forward them to me. I know I need to book soon but that is just outrageous. It's finally getting cold here, it will be down in the 30's tonight. I know what you're thinking, it's snowing in Chicago and I should keep my little Florida high of 60 degrees mouth shut about weather. Well, I think I've officially lost my Chicagoan ability to deal with the cold because I am FREEZING! I don't remember the last time that I've been cold. It's been ages. What is everybody doing for Thanksgiving? I'll be packing for my CRUISE to MEXICO with my SISTER, AUNTIE RONNI AND UNCLE LEE!!! Ooohh I am so very excited! I'm sorry Rob and Lucy, I'll miss you but I'm still so so so excited!!! Okay just had to get that out. Well, I'll say adios for now. I'm gonna fold my laundry and watch more Seinfeld reruns.

I love you!
Amy

Hi Amy,

I know what you mean about the cold weather. I was in Fla. for only 1 week and I couldn't take the cold when we got home. But alas, now that we've had a couple days of below freezing, I guess I'm getting used to it.

Our trip was great as Roger said. We were on a "wish flight" and the airline had balloons and streamers everywhere we went, they had a party waiting at the gate at O'Hare, we got to meet the pilot and co-pilot, we were upgraded to 1st class and the girls each got 3 bags of gifts, candy, toys, etc.

Once we got to Orlando the place we stayed was great. It's dedicated to wish kids from many wish granting organizations. We stayed in a 2 br villa, had breakfast and dinner there for free, had an ice cream parlor open from 7:30 am to 9:30 pm, movie theater, mini golf, arcade, other activities for the kids, 2 pools, 1 day pass to Sea World, 2 day pass to Universal Studios, 3 day pass to Disney parks. Needless to say, we couldn't even do everything.

We really enjoyed Sea World and Magic Kingdom. Epcot wasn't too exciting for the girls, but they did have a few rides we liked. Emilie got to dance with the performers in the Lion King show at Animal Kingdom. Jaimee and I got totally soaked there on the river raft ride (I was still damp that evening when we got back 6 hours later!)

We had 14 rolls of film developed, so next time you're around you can peruse the highlights that we put in the photo album.

Have a great time on your cruise! All of you! I have the travel bug now. Unfortunately, don't have the cash to satisfy it. When do you leave on the trip, next weekend?

Hope you can find a way to get home for Christmas. Did you check the discount airlines? We're flying on something like "USA3000" when we go with Grandma and Grandpa to Florida this spring. What about taking Amtrak? Is that a possibility?

Glad to hear you aced the GRE. Was there really ever any doubt??? You're a smart cookie. Hope you get into UCLA, but it would also be nice to have you back here at U of Chgo.

Well, just heard the wash machine buzz so I have to get another load in. I'm really trying to get back into the daily grind, but that week of vacation spoiled me. I just don't have any ambition this week.

Take care. Love you and miss you. Love you too, Linny.

To Ame on the move from Granny barely moving: Tried sending a comment about three messages ago but it got LOST IN SPACE (I'm somewhat electronically challenged). Anyway, since Grandpa retired, our social life consists of doctor appointments and visiting friends (a few too many at Cumberland Chapels). In reply to the Gaucho pants, I think you'd
make a very cute Umpaloompa! As for your exam there was no question in my mind that you'd do very, very well! Linny couldn't help me get my message to you so I was going to start from scratch when I came across your political comment and decided I didn't want to start on that because I'd only get mad at you. When I talked to you the other day you explained what the comment was all about. Three cheers for anonymous!!
Tonight we're going to dinner with the Thorns and the Emrichs and Uncle Lee says he'll spring if Grandpa wears the White Sox Champions hat that Uncle Lee sent to him in the mail. I told Auntie Ronni that if he pays, I'll even wear the hat. We're going to Emilio's for Tappas.
Nothing new and exciting here. Hope you got the pictures of our "new additions" that I sent to you. Don't know what (if anything)
we're doing for Thanksgiving, but it's just another day.
Remind Linny that she has "a little something" for you that I gave to her when we went to Brunetti's for our Anniversary. Have a grrrreat time on the cruise.

Luv, Granny

Wow grandma, good job with making a posting! I did get your additon pictures and the both look great! Tori is a real cutey but I think Lucy is still the love of my life. I'm jealous that you are going to see my mom and dad tonight, tell them I say hello and I love them. I've been out running errands all day and now I'm going to lay down and watch a movie with Rob. He just got home a few hours ago from being in Chicago. Tonight I'm going to work at the bar. Love you all!

Didn't see your comment until this A.M. Had a fun time last night. Your Dad said he has trouble sending a comment so I told him what I did. Now.....this is the third time I'm trying to send this to you, (you may get all three).
Your Mom & Dad went to the BEARS game with "my sweet little honey-boy" today and saw a great game (13 to 3).
Auntie Ronni said she can't believe how excited she is about going on this trip with you and Linny. Have a great time!!!

Hi Ame! Yeah, I sure feel sorry for your little warm Florida butt...Just kidding-we know it's not the cold or warmth, here. It's the missing the family part. If I had a jet or even five hundred extra bucks I'd fly you up (and Rob and lucy). However, I have neither...If I win the Lotto before then You'll be the first person I call, Kiddo. Have a great time on the boat (you, too Linny!) I'll be thinking about you girls
