Meet my new friend...

Mr. Bear. He lives in Victoria, BC. In case you aren't reading the "comments" section, I have been promoted to Youth Program Director and have extended my contract yet again. I'll now be coming home July 14th. I know, I know...I said I wouldn't extend again but I've been sucked in. Linny and I have tickets to France for July 26th so this time I can't possible stay longer. Never fear. I'm loving my life and honestly couldn't be happier (except of course if sister was here with me). We were in Juneau today and I had fun, Staci (my boss) and I had sushi and then played some pool at the Viking. I beat her. How's home??? Anything exciting going on? Okay well that's all I've got for now. See you in 5.5 weeeks. I promise.

Amos

Amy,
It's summertime and the natives are restless so Auntie J & L have their hands full and soon comes VBS. I think the Stoller girls are swimming at Norridge pool every AM for classes and now that the Ondrlas are through with school they'll be at some pool almost every day. Grandpa is going to lunch with your Mom today. I'm going to attempt a trip to Green Lake next Monday thru Wednesday.
John Mrock is coming up to help Grandpa install a fish finder/depth finder on the boat.
It'll seem like a bathtub to you after your cruising but to us it's like the Queen Mary!

Hey Amy! Sounds like life on the ship is fabulous! Congratulations on the promotion.

Pace is the same as always, except that Freeman was fired, I'm the new reading teacher, a new science teacher started yesterday and Jan told us she accepted a position working for the state office. It looks pretty good that Laurie will be the new ED. When will you be back in Pensacola to get your things? We'll all definitely have to get together!

Have fun! Miss you. :)

Hey PACE ladies! (and Melissa...I hear you're outta there??) It looks like I'll be in Pensacola more like the first or second week in September. We are going to move my sister into our new apt first and then come down to get my stuff. Congrats on the reading teacher job! Do you like it better than science? Are any of my girls still there?? If they are please say hello for me and tell them I think about them a lot.

Ship life is fabulous and I'm having so much fun. Can't wait to see you guys and SHOW YOU ALL 900 PHOTOS!!! HAHA! Okay you don't have to look at all of them, maybe I'll make a "highlight reel"...

Oh girls...you're the best. Hope you're having fun in the Florida sun. Alaska is getting warmer but I still wear sweaters every day!

LOVE AND MORE LOVE!

Hi,
Had a really nice visit at Emmy's Birthday party yesterday. Everyone was there except your Dad & Uncle Lee. We even got to meet Matt!!
Everyone reallllly likes him! Got to move fast this AM. I have an 8:30 Rehab session, then Grangpa, Uncle Lonnie, Tori & I are going to Green Lake. Tomorrow, Gayle's husband John is coming up overnite to help Grandpa install a depth finder on our boat. After a few days in the 60's it's working it's way back up to 80's. Gotta run now.
Luv..........Granny

Hey all!

Everyone seemed to like my guacamole yesterday at Em B-day party that I've decided to put it here. So, here you go, MB:

2 Avacados - mashed
1/3 red onion, finely chopped
2 TBSP finely chopped celantro
1 TBSP finely chopped garlic
1 jalapeno pepper
lime
salt and pepper to taste

Just mix all the stuff together. Squeeze the juice of half a lime into the mix. and "mmmmmmm-mmmmmm! yum!".

Some tips on making it better:

- I've never really ever measured my ingredients and tend to add more of all of the ingredients to my liking.

- Pick your avacados carefully! It shouldn't be too hard or too soft. If too hard, not enough taste and difficult to mash. If too soft, they'll be all black and gross inside. It should just barely give and stay dented when you press on the outside.

- Before you cut the lime, squash-roll it around on a hard surface to break up the fibers inside. Makes it a lot easier to squeeze more juice out.

- I like to use the pre-minced garlic-in-a-jar (found in the produce section). Tastes the same with a lot less work.

- The kick from a jalapeno comes from the "meat" and seeds on the inside. The more you leave in, the spicier your mixture. I like to leave it all in. Yowza!

Use thicker chips. I hate when they break when I dip!

Good to see you and meet MB, Lin! He seems like "a real spiffy fella". ;-}

Hope you're having a blast, Ame. Sorry you missed all the excitement at Emmie' party. Must be a drag to have to leave your exciting job to go to boring ol' Paris with your sister. Oh well, you'll get over it I'm sure.

Luv you lots!
